In the year 2010, the French government has walled off the crime-infested District B13 in Paris, which is populated by dangerous drug dealers, murderers and other criminals. The government has given up on District B13 and the only police presence it has is a special team called "Elite Force" who are responsible for maintaining the law in this hazardous city.

The movie, District B13, follows the adventure of Leito (played by David Belle), a skilled parkour runner who lives in the ghetto and whose sister Lola (played by Dany Verissimo) is kidnapped by the infamous crime lord Taha (played by Bibi Naceri). Meanwhile, undercover cop Damien Tomaso (played by Cyril Raffaelli) is tasked with retrieving a stolen nuclear weapon that has been smuggled into the district.

When Damien tries to retrieve the weapon, he and his team are ambushed and taken hostage by Taha's men. However, Leito, who has been staying away from the cops as he believes they won't help him, manages to rescue Damien and escape with him. Together, Damien and Leito team up against Taha and his men in order to save Lola, get the weapon back and bring peace to the neighborhood.

District B13 is an action-packed movie, filled with thrilling parkour stunts, adrenaline-pumping action, and intense fight scenes. The star of the show is undoubtedly David Belle, who is considered as one of the founders of parkour. His incredible moves and agility are fascinating to watch, and the way he overcomes obstacles and moves around the city with ease is impressive.

The story of the movie is engaging, and the characters are well-developed. Damien is a complex character who doesn't always follow the rules of the game, but his heart is in the right place. Leito is a determined, brave and loyal character who risks everything to save his sister. Taha, on the other hand, is a ruthless crime lord who will stop at nothing to protect his empire. Each character is distinct, and the actors do a fantastic job of bringing them to life.

The movie also highlights some of the social issues that exist in the society. District B13 is a representation of the forgotten, marginalized and ignored parts of the society where poverty, crime, and violence are rampant. The city walls symbolize how the government has abandoned the people living in these areas and left them to fend for themselves. Through the movie, we can see how people in these areas have to resort to extreme measures to survive, and how crime organizations exploit their vulnerability.

The music in the movie sets the tone perfectly, with techno beats and electrifying rhythms adding to the movie's pacing and intensity. Even though the movie is fast-paced and action-packed, the storyline never loses its focus, and the pacing is just right.

One of the most remarkable things about the movie is the lack of CGI and special effects. Instead, the movie relies on the physical abilities of the actors, and the stunts are all realistic and practical. This makes the action scenes much more enjoyable and impressive, and the movie stands out as one of the best action movies of its time.

In conclusion, District B13 is a high-octane action-packed movie with an engaging storyline, dynamic characters, and breathtaking stunts. The movie is a must-watch for anyone who enjoys action movies, parkour, or French cinema in general. The movie's themes of social inequality and poverty are still relevant today, and it is a poignant reminder of how society often mistreats its most vulnerable members.

District B13 is a 2004 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 26 minutes. It has received mostly positive reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 7.1 and a MetaScore of 70.
