Watch Elvis & Nixon
On December 21st, 1970, rock n'roll icon Elvis Presley arrived at the White House, requesting a meeting with President Richard Nixon. The two men met for a while, then took what became an iconic photo. What many do not know is what the singer and the President discussed. Nixon and his aides want to get The King on board in order to broaden their support, especially among young voters. While Elvis is fine with that, he wants something in return. A badge. Elvis Presley, singer, movie star, now wants to work as an undercover drug enforcement agent. The King feels he is perfect for the job. His career in movies has made him -- in his words -- a master of disguise. Plus he can bring his own gun. But Elvis is about to find out being a federal agent is not all it's cracked up to be, and Nixon has to worry if The King's antics could cost him a second term in the White House.
