Fan Girl is a coming-of-age movie that revolves around the life of a teenage girl named Telulah Farrow (Nadia Alexander) who is an ardent fan of indie rock band, "All Time Low." Telulah is an introverted and socially awkward girl who finds solace in listening to music and idolizing the band's lead singer, Alex Gaskarth (Pico Alexander).

Telulah's life takes a turn when she learns that her favorite band is playing at a nearby music festival. She convinces her best friend Jamie (Joshua Boone) to accompany her to the festival, but things don't go as planned. Jamie bails on her, leaving Telulah to embark on the journey alone. However, she soon finds herself in a pickle when her car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. Dejected and stranded, Telulah decides to take matters into her own hands and tries to hitch a ride to the music festival.

Enter Paul (Scott Adsit), a middle-aged man who offers her a ride in his rusty van. At first, Telulah is apprehensive about accepting his offer, but soon realizes that Paul is a nice and gentle soul who genuinely wants to help her. Paul is on a mission of his own - to make it to the music festival and reconnect with his estranged daughter. Despite their age difference, Paul and Telulah form an unlikely bond on their journey, and their conversations allow Telulah to open up about her aspirations and fears.

As they make their way to the music festival, Telulah must also navigate the ups and downs of being a fan girl. She faces ridicule from fellow festival-goers and is frustrated when she misses the chance to meet Alex Gaskarth. However, her experience at the festival helps her grow as a person, and she learns to stand up for herself.

The movie also delves into the concept of parental expectations and the pressures of fitting in. Telulah's father (Charlie Ettinger) wants her to pursue a career in law, which is something she has no interest in. Meanwhile, her high school peers shun her because of her devotion to the band. Telulah must learn to embrace her identity and follow her heart, despite the disapproval of those around her.

Throughout the movie, the soundtrack features the music of "All Time Low," adding to the authenticity of the film. The band's upbeat tunes and Telulah's emotional connection to their lyrics serve as a constant throughout the movie and add to the overall atmosphere.

Fan Girl is a heartwarming and relatable movie that addresses the struggles of growing up and finding oneself. Telulah's character is especially endearing, and Nadia Alexander's portrayal of her is commendable. The movie has its share of humorous moments, but it also shines a light on the importance of human connection and the power of music in bringing people together.

Fan Girl is a 2015 music movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 40 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.5.
