This 2002 French mystery tells the story of the gorgeous Laure Ash, who leads a mysterious double life as a diamond thief as well as an identity thief. While part of a heist to steal precious jewels, Ash (played by Rebecca Romijn) double-crosses her accomplices, stealing the jewels and escaping to Paris with her stolen prize. Once in Paris, Ash realizes that she bares a striking resemblance to a woman named Lily. As Ash watches Lily take her own life, she devises a plan in which she poses as Lily to better hide from her vengeful accomplices. Ash, posing as Lily, goes on to live her life under Lily's identity, marrying the American ambassador to France, Bruce Watts (Peter Coyote). While in Paris, her photo is taken by a paparazzo called Nicolas Bardo (Antonio Banderas), which reveals her whereabouts to her former accomplices whom she had betrayed. Ash plans to stage a fake kidnapping, with Bardo as the supposed kidnapper, to protect herself once more. The result is a fatal meeting between Ash, Bardo, and a bitter accomplice seeking revenge, ending in multiple deaths at the hands of more than one murderer.
