- 1 hr 25 min
One type of character is sure to bring a family together to watch a movie: animals. During the 1970s, many animals characters in the movies warmed our hearts and made us believe that animals could do anything humans could do. One of those characters was Benji, a mixed breed dog who starred in several movies during that time. One of those movies was called For the Love of Benji. This film was the second in the series of Benji films. This film takes place in Athens, Greece, where Benji and his family take a vacation. However, before his trip gets started, a bad guy places some type of secret formula on his paw. Once Benji arrives in Greece, he gets separated from his family when he is placed in the missing baggage area. He is able to escape his crate, but he is lost and roams the streets of Athens. Benji must now struggle to stay alive while he is looking for his family. In addition to stealing food in order to not go hungry, he is also on the run from the bad guys who placed the secret formula on his paw. They want to catch him before he is able to get away completely from them. The bad guys go as far as to try to chase him down by using a Doberman Pincher. The movie keeps the underlying theme of good versus evil, but the main focus is, of course, Benji the dog. His quick-witted mind and adorable personality appeal to people of all ages. This film provides tons of action and intrigue for the whole family to enjoy, but it does not present it in a violent manner. The film shows the beautiful landscape of Greece while giving children and adults alike a fun-filled choice for entertainment, full of action, intrigue, and family love. This movie can be shown to the youngest of family members and will be enjoyed by all.
