Future Hunters is an action-packed adventure movie from 1988 starring Robert Patrick, Linda Carol, and Ed Crick. The movie begins with a group of treasure hunters who find a mysterious artifact in a cave in the Philippines. The artifact leads them on a wild adventure across different time periods and continents as they race to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands.

Robert Patrick plays Slade, a rugged and charismatic treasure hunter who is leading the expedition. Linda Carol plays Linda, a spunky and resourceful archaeologist who is along for the ride. Ed Crick plays Tommy, a bumbling but lovable sidekick who provides comic relief throughout the movie.

The first half of the movie takes place in the Philippines, where the group is being pursued by a gang of mercenaries led by the ruthless Vargas (played by Bob Schott). They manage to evade the mercenaries and find themselves transported to a post-apocalyptic future, where they meet a group of survivors led by a tough but kind-hearted woman named Kamp (played by Michelle MacAllister).

In the future, they discover that the artifact they found is actually a key that can unlock a powerful weapon capable of destroying the world. They also learn that Vargas is still alive and has teamed up with a band of neo-Nazis who are trying to get their hands on the weapon.

Slade, Linda, and Tommy team up with Kamp and her group to try to stop Vargas and the Nazis from getting the weapon. Along the way, they encounter various obstacles and challenges, including fighting off hordes of mutants and navigating a maze-like underground bunker.

Despite its cheesy special effects and over-the-top action sequences, Future Hunters is an entertaining and enjoyable movie. The pacing is brisk, and the various time periods and locations keep things interesting. The performances are generally solid, with Robert Patrick and Linda Carol making a charismatic duo.

One of the highlights of the movie is its campy sense of humor. There are several scenes that are intentionally funny, such as when Tommy accidentally knocks himself out with a stun gun or when Slade tries to convince a group of Vikings that he is a god. These humorous moments help to offset some of the more serious themes of the movie and make it more enjoyable to watch.

Another notable aspect of the movie is its diverse cast. Linda Carol's character is a strong and capable woman who is not just relegated to the role of damsel in distress. Kamp and her group in the future are also a diverse mix of people from different backgrounds and ethnicities.

Overall, Future Hunters is a fun and entertaining movie that is worth watching for fans of 80s action movies. While it may not be the most groundbreaking or thought-provoking film, it provides plenty of thrills, laughs, and adventure for viewers to enjoy.

Future Hunters is a 1986 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 40 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.3.
