Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla is a science fiction movie about the appearance and attack of a new Godzilla in Tateyama, Japan. A typhoon awakes the new Godzilla, and he attacks Tateyama, dealing damage that hasn’t been seen since the original Godzilla. The original Godzilla, who appeared forty-five years prior, is supposedly the result of the detonation of nuclear bombs on Japan during the Second World War. The original Godzilla is dead, and a new monster has risen from the sea. The new Godzilla seems to be nearly the same makeup as the original except it is immune to mazer fire, rendering the Japanese military's attempts to defend Japan useless. As a result of the appearance of the new Godzilla, a section of the Japanese government called The Anti-Mega Losses Force created in 1966 decides to design and build a robotic Godzilla from the bones of the original Godzilla to fight and stop the new beast. The robotic Godzilla built by the Japanese government is called MechaGodzilla, or Kiryu. Kiryu is equipped with the latest technology and armed with many different types of weapons. The most powerful weapon Kiryu is equipped with is a freezing weapon called the Absolute Zero cannon. The Absolute Zero cannon is thought to be the most powerful gun in the history of the world. The year is 1999 when the new Godzilla attacks. By 2003, four years after the new Godzilla attack, when the construction of Kiryu is finished, Lieutenant Akane Yashiro is assigned as the pilot of the new MechaGodzilla, when it is not being controlled by remote. At first Kiryu has some problems with the remote control piloting but after one disaster the scientist manage to make it work and Kiryu is prepared to battle Godzilla. During the first battle the remote piloting system fails and Lieutenant Akane Yashiro must pilot Kiryu under direct human control and fight Godzilla to save Tateyama, Japan.
