Watch Good Intentions
- 1 hr 25 min
This is a comedy that takes place in a small Georgia town. Etta Milford (Elaine Hendrix) is a married to Chester (Luke Perry) and the mother of two rambunctious young boys. She finds herself desperate to find a solution to her family’s financial difficulties, which are primarily a result of her husband putting too much of the money he makes from his liquor store operation into funding his questionable pipe dream inventions. She is determined that her sons will be able to go to college which her family was not able to afford for her. Etta is inspired to become a masked bandit. Disguised and armed with a shotgun, she keeps her one woman crime spree close to home by robbing her own husband’s store. That way the profits are unavailable to him for sinking into his misguided inventions. As implausible as this sounds, it seems to be working until she decides to invest her ill-gotten funds in an antique furniture venture. This leads to her fending off the advances of the local dealer, who turns out to be anther scam artist. As the plot thickens Etta gets caught up in her own schemes and needs to keep Chester in the dark as to her master plan. This is not too difficult, he not being the sharpest tool in the shed. Between armed robberies Etta gives relationship advise to her sister, played by country music superstar Leann Rimes, who also contributes songs to the film’s soundtrack. Inept police, blackmail, strippers, and a host of down-home colorful characters come into play as Etta does what she feels like she has to do to make things right for her family. There is a certain red neck trailer trash charm to this tale amid the laughs. All the main characters are likable enough and even though Etta's methods are extreme there is no question that her intentions are of the highest order.
