Gorbaciof is a 2010 Italian drama film directed by Stefano Incerti and stars Toni Servillo, Geppy Gleijeses, and Mi Yang. The movie is an adaptation of the novel "L'anno della lepre," which was written by famed Italian author, Arto Paasilinna. It is set in Italy and tells the enthralling story of a man who is struggling to create a perfect life for himself, despite the many obstacles that stand in his way.

The film is a mesmerizing portrayal of life in modern-day Italy, where the wealth gap is huge, and the rule of law is often ignored. Gorbaciof, the protagonist, is an atypical character who works at a Lottomatica (Italian state lottery) booth in Rome, Italy. He is nicknamed "Bacio" after winning a lottery, and despite being shy and nonchalant, he is a remarkable man. His colleagues do not like him because of his reserved behavior, but he is not the type to give in to peer pressure. He does not remain convinced that all he needs in life is a perfect relationship.

Gorbaciof is an unassuming man who appears insignificant to those around him. However, he has significant aspirations, including quitting his job and moving to Patagonia in Argentina to escape from life's everyday pressures. He is also searching for love, but he is not looking for just anyone. Instead, he is looking for someone who fits his idea of a perfect romantic partner - someone who is serene and understanding.

Despite his modest aspirations, Gorbaciof is not a perfect man. He has a gambling addiction, he is not always the most responsible person, and his instincts often lead him into trouble. He steals from the booth he works at, becomes entangled with the local mafia, and then falls in love with the Chinese barmaid next door, played by Mi Yang.

The film features excellent acting from the cast, particularly Toni Servillo, who brings Gorbaciof's character to life. Servillo gives a nuanced performance, as he has in his previous award-winning work including The Great Beauty (2013) and Loro (2018). He shows the character's internal struggle as he tries to overcome his demons and pursue his dreams.

Geppy Gleijeses is also excellent in his supporting role as the Italian mob boss who befriends Gorbaciof. The boss helps Gorbaciof out of a tricky situation, and they soon become close friends, even though they are from totally different walks of life.

The film's score is mesmerizing and helps set the tone of each scene. The cinematography is gorgeous and helps capture the beauty of Rome and its surroundings. The director, Stefano Incerti, also uses naturalistic lighting to create a moody and atmospheric ambiance that mirrors Gorbaciof's internal world.

The film has an interesting pacing, with action increasing towards the end, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats. It delves into a range of themes, including love, addiction, loneliness, social class, and even life's purpose, all of which impact Gorbaciof's character development.

Overall, Gorbaciof is a potent crime-drama film that intertwines elements of comedy, romance, and tragedy. While its plot and character development might not be for everyone, anyone who enjoys a thought-provoking film should check it out. The movie's unconventional plot and incredible performances make it well worth watching for fans of Italian cinema.
