American teacher James Anders is bored with his teaching job in Rio de Janeiro in this Italian crime drama. He concocts a plan to steal a cache of diamonds by assembling a team of robbers who will accomplish their mission during the Carnival festival in Brazil. Anders manages to assemble a team that includes a professional safe cracker, a mechanical expert, a longtime thief and a playboy to seduce the building key from a female building employee. But unknown to the other team members, Anders also hires an additional professional who will have an important mission after the diamond heist.
