Hav Plenty is a romantic comedy film that was written and directed by Chris Cherot, who also acts in the movie as a main protagonist. The film also features Chenoa Maxwell, Robinne Lee, Tammi Jones, Reginald James and Hill Harper. The story follows Havilland Savage (played by Chenoa Maxwell) and Lee Plenty (played by writer-director Cherot), a pair of star-crossed lovers who are not to acknowledge their true feelings for each other throughout most of the film. Havilland is wealthy, quite hoity toity and full of herself. She is also cursed with having annoyingly impulsive and flighty tendencies. In contrast, her friend Lee has no money and is actually so humble that he is often emasculated by people on a regular basis. However, unlike how Havilland comes off, Lee is actually quite likable compared to his buddy. When Havilland breaks up with her unfaithful boyfriend and fiance, Michael Simmons, (played by Hill Harper), she suddenly finds herself alone and dateless on New Year’s Eve. Just so she doesn’t have to be alone, she invites Lee over, expecting him to drive to see her all the way from New York to Washington D.C. The plan is that he is to be her substitute date and companion for the evening. The New Year's celebration is also to include Havilland’s friend, Caroline (played by Tammi Jones), her sister, Leigh (played by Robinne Lee) and brother in law, Felix (played by Reginald James). Once he arrives, Lee's originally planned one nighter in D.C. goes on for several more days. During this time, Lee finds himself being hit upon by Caroline, who is unattached and surprisingly, by newlywed, Leigh. Though he is attracted to the women, he turns away from their advances because he doesn’t think it is the right time. However, what is later revealed is that he is actually smitten with his good friend, Havilland. The rest is history as she realizes he is the man of her dreams.
