How To Marry a Millionaire is a 1953 film about three women who are looking for rich men to marry. The film stars Marilyn Monroe, Betty Grable, and Lauren Bacall. Of the three main characters played by Monroe, Grable, and Bacall, it seems to be Bacall’s character who is more intelligent. They are living in a big apartment building in New York, and they are attempting to pretend like they are also rich. They think that if the men who they want assume that they are also wealthy, then it will be easier to get those men to marry them. Monroe plays a character who seems to be the least intelligent of the three women, and she has trouble seeing. She wears glasses, but she does not like to wear them when she is around men. Grable’s character is an energetic woman. Bacall plays a woman who is sophisticated, and she seems to be the one of the three women who thinks she knows how to catch rich men. All three characters are models. While they are living in that big apartment building, they sell the furniture in the house to have the money to continue living the kind of lifestyle that they think will attract rich men.
