Ice is a 2011 science-fiction disaster movie directed by Nick Copus, and produced by Antoine Fuqua, who is known for his work on movies such as Training Day, Shooter, and Southpaw. The film was released by SyFy, a cable and satellite channel which is dedicated to science-fiction, horror, and fantasy programming. The movie is set in South Georgia Island, a remote location located in the southern Atlantic Ocean. A team of explorers and scientists have been stationed there to monitor the effects of global warming on the environment. But when a sudden volcanic eruption occurs, the team is faced with a much more immediate danger that threatens their lives and the planet as a whole: a massive glacier separating from the ice cap, leading to a catastrophic tsunami and an apocalyptic meteorological event.

The main characters are a group of scientists and technicians who are tasked with studying the glacier and its movements in order to predict its behavior and prevent any danger to the surrounding habitats. The team includes Dr. Emma Collins (Camille Sullivan), a glaciologist who is leading the expedition; Charlie (Mike Dopud), the team's helicopter pilot; Malcom (Ryan Grantham), Emma's son, who is a remarkable autistic child and has a strong affinity for numbers and patterns; and a few other technical experts.

As the weather turns for the worse, bad news arrives for the team as a massive chunk of ice violently breaks off from the glacier, causing a seismic disturbance and a tsunami warning. The team reacts quickly, and Emma sends Charlie in a helicopter to evacuate Malcom and a few other team members. However, the tsunami reaches the island and floods the research station, damaging the equipment and leaving the survivors stranded without power, communications or supplies.

The team then tries to make a quick escape from the island in an attempt to find help, but they soon realize that they are in the middle of a much bigger problem: the glacier is rapidly melting and moving at an uncontrollable rate. To make matters worse, the melting is causing massive waves and a superstorm that will hit the East Coast of the United States, potentially causing problems for millions of people.

The team must come up with a plan to send a warning about the impending disaster, before it's too late. This task is made even more complicated by the fact that their equipment is not working and they must improvise to find a solution. Meanwhile, the disaster evolves and becomes more dangerous as the glacier continues to break apart, blocking the team's only way off the island. The team must then scramble to come up with a plan B to save themselves, the research station, and the rest of humanity.

Overall, Ice is an engaging, thrilling movie that keeps viewers on the edge of their seat throughout the whole film. It features an interesting and diverse cast of characters that viewers will find themselves rooting for, as they struggle to survive in an inhospitable environment. The special effects are also quite impressive, showcasing the terrifying power of nature and the consequences of global warming in an exciting and realistic manner.
