In Your Hands (En Tus Manos) is a 2010 Colombian drama film directed by Carlos Moreno. The film is set in Bogota, Colombia's capital city, where two childhood friends, Sebastian and Julian, take entirely different paths in life. Sebastian is a successful surgeon in his thirties, and Julian is a drug addict who uses his guitar to make a living.

The opening shot of the movie is a close-up of Julian in a dingy room surrounded by drug paraphernalia. He shoots up and black and white images from his past flicker around him. Meanwhile, Sebastian performs a life-saving operation on an elderly patient.

The storyline takes on a fascinating twist when Julian comes to the hospital to seek medical attention for a wound. He discovers that Sebastian is the doctor who attends to him. From there, the story unravels as the two characters cross paths of life and death, compassion and judgement.

In Your Hands explores the different motives of Sebastian and Julian and how their lives intertwine. Sebastian lives a comfortable life surrounded by luxury, but he is not fulfilled. Julian, on the other hand, has nothing but his music and his girlfriend, Mariana. As Sebastian helps Julian through the recovery process, Julian's music becomes his saving grace.

The movie portrays Bogota as a city of brutal contrasts. We see the well-to-do neighborhoods, the high-rise buildings, and the bustling streets, but we also see the poverty, the crime-ridden areas, and how the hunt for drugs controls the streets. The visually stunning shots of the city set against the narrative are a testament to the director's skills.

Another theme that runs throughout the movie is the idea of forgiveness. Sebastian's mother abandoned him when he was a child, and he has never forgiven her. Julian's father is an alcoholic who has also abandoned him. As Sebastian becomes invested in Julian's life, he discovers that holding grudges is only a burden.

The ending of the movie is as heartwarming as it is tragic. I won't spoil it for you, but it's one of those endings that leave you pondering long after the credits have rolled.

The acting performances are impressive, with Paula Correa delivering a standout portrayal of Mariana. She plays the supporting character to the T and gives a great performance in the film's most emotional scenes.

In Your Hands is an engaging film that showcases the beauty of such a bustling city as Bogota, Colombia, and the different faces of life it presents. It's a gripping story of love, compassion, and forgiveness, and how the decisions we make can change the course of our lives. The movie is a must-see for anyone interested in foreign cinema, and even if you're not, this movie will not disappoint.

In Your Hands is a 2010 drama with a runtime of 27 minutes. It has received mostly positive reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 7.7.
