Invasion of the Saucer Men is a classic science fiction B-movie that was released in 1957. Directed by Edward L. Cahn, the movie tells the story of a group of teenagers who stumble upon a crashed flying saucer in the woods. However, things quickly turn dangerous when they encounter the alien occupants of the saucer. The movie opens with a farmer named Old Man Larkin (played by Raymond Hatton) driving through the countryside at night. Suddenly, he sees a bright light in the sky and a flying saucer crashes nearby. When he investigates the crash site, he discovers a small alien creature with large, bulbous eyes.

Meanwhile, a group of teenagers led by Johnny Carter (Steven Terrell) and Joan Hayden (Gloria Castillo) are on a drive in the woods. They accidentally hit one of the alien creatures with their car and decide to take it to the local police. However, the police don't believe their story and instead think they are just pulling a prank.

The teenagers soon realize that the aliens are hostile and their plan is to take over the Earth. The aliens attack humans by injecting them with a substance that dissolves their flesh, leaving only a skeleton. The teenagers try to warn the authorities about the alien invasion, but nobody believes them.

As the night progresses, the teenagers find themselves on the run from the aliens. They also encounter an escaped convict named Joe Gruen (Frank Gorshin) who is being pursued by the police. However, Gruen decides to team up with the teenagers to fight the aliens and save the town.

Invasion of the Saucer Men is a classic example of 1950s sci-fi films, with its B-movie special effects and cheesy dialogue. However, it also has a sense of fun and adventure that is infectious. The teenagers are a likable group of heroes, while the aliens are suitably creepy with their large insect-like eyes and stilted movements.

One of the highlights of the movie is Frank Gorshin's portrayal of Joe Gruen. Gorshin went on to play The Riddler in the 1960s Batman TV series and his performance in Invasion of the Saucer Men shows his talent for playing manic, unpredictable characters.

The movie also has some interesting subtext about teenage rebellion and the generation gap. The teenagers in the movie are often dismissed by the adults around them, who view them as troublemakers and pranksters. However, it's the teenagers who ultimately save the day and prove their worth in the face of an alien threat.

Overall, Invasion of the Saucer Men is a fun and entertaining sci-fi flick that will appeal to fans of classic B-movies. It may not have the budget or special effects of a big Hollywood blockbuster, but it makes up for that with its charm and sense of adventure.
