Jal Bin Machhli Nritya Bin Bijli is a romantic tale about a young woman obsessed with song and dance. She lives with her widowed father who wishes her to marry a man that she does not love. Instead, she runs away to join a famous dance troupe where she meets a man and falls in love. Unfortunately, she meets with an accident that threatens her dancing career. Feeling too ashamed to face her lover, she escapes the hospital, and encounters a group of bandits with whom she joins forces. Eventually, she is offered the opportunity to return to the stage.
