The Deepsea Challenge is the dramatic account of film maker James Cameron’s journey to the deepest part of the ocean. This historic expedition takes Cameron 6.83 miles below the ocean’s surface to the Mariana Trench. This was the first scientific exploration of what is known as the deepest spot on Earth in a submersible piloted by a person. This documentary, narrated by Cameron, follows his expedition on March 26, 2012. That is the day he went on the solo dive in the submersible known as the Deepsea Challenger to the deepest part of the earth. Cameron gives the story behind his dream to make this journey and how he designed the submersible to accomplish this exploration. This is a dramatic journey to the unknown and includes the risks involved in this maiden voyage. The film can be seen in high-resolution 3D. The footage uncovers new life forms and landscapes of the ocean never seen before.
