Jee Aayan Nu is a Punjabi-language film directed by Manmohan Singh, released in 2003. The lead role in the film is played by renowned Punjabi singer Harbhajan Mann, who also lent his vocals to several of the songs in the film. The film stars Priya Gill and Kimi Verma as the female leads. The movie tells the story of a young man named Gurshaan Singh (Harbhajan Mann) who lives in Vancouver, Canada with his family. Gurshaan is deeply attached to his family and their ancestral roots in Punjab, even though he was born and brought up in Canada. He longs to visit his family's home village in Punjab, which he has only ever seen in pictures and heard stories about.

One day, when Gurshaan's beloved grandfather passes away, the family decides to send Gurshaan to Punjab for the first time to perform the last rites. Gurshaan is overjoyed at the prospect of finally visiting his ancestral home, but he soon realizes that things there are not as simple as he had imagined. His family in Punjab is deeply entangled in a web of disputes and rivalries with neighboring families which have been going on for generations.

As he navigates the complexities of the rural Punjab, Gurshaan meets and falls in love with a local school teacher named Preeti (Priya Gill). Preeti is an independent and modern woman, but is also deeply rooted in her culture and traditions. Gurshaan and Preeti's relationship faces opposition from their respective families due to the long-standing disputes between them. But Gurshaan is determined to win over Preeti's family, and at the same time, resolve the long-standing disputes between the families of his mother and father in Canada.

Throughout the film, we see Gurshaan torn between his love for his homeland and the difficulties he faces in navigating the entrenched disputes that divide it. As he works to bridge the divide between the two families, he faces challenges and opposition from all sides, even from those closest to him. However, Gurshaan perseveres with his love for Preeti as well as his love for Punjab.

The film is a rich tapestry of Punjabi culture and traditions, with stunningly beautiful cinematography showcasing the lush, green fields and the vibrant and colourful culture of Punjab. The songs in the film are beautifully composed and add to the narrative, capturing the essence of Punjab and its people.

Overall, Jee Aayan Nu is a heartwarming tale of love, family, and the importance of staying true to one's roots. The film explores the themes of tradition versus modernity, love versus family, and the importance of bridging divides and building bridges. It is a must-watch for anyone interested in Punjabi culture or anyone who loves a good love story.
