Watch L: Change the World

The film is a spin off of the Death Note film franchise, which itself, was an adaptation of the popular manga series. The film was directed by Hideo Nakata (Dark Water, Ring, Ring 2) and stars acclaimed character actor, Kenichi Matsuyama in the leading role as the eccentric detective L. The story is set directly after the events of Death Note: The Last Name, wherein the power mad user of the Death Note (a magical artifact used by the Gods of Death) has discovered L's true name and written it within the note. This means that L only has 23 days left to live and the film then follows that timeline, as L battles a criminal organization hellbent on releasing a deadly toxin into the atmosphere.
