La Gran Fiesta is exactly what the title means in Spanish- The Great Party. It is a film made in Puerto Rico; nominated for the Oscars in 1985 under the Foreign Film category. The setting is 1942 at a hotel where a final farewell party is held before the hotel, the Casino De Puerto Rico, is hand over to the United States military during World War II.

Even though it's a party, the real thrills begin when all the "friends" and patrons, gossip, seduce each other and start planning deadly plots against each other. It's friendship and love gone amok amidst a party where there's supposed to be fun and wholesome entertainment. Movie goers will enjoy the cliffhanger ending, well worth the wait.
