Larva is a horror-comedy film that was released in 2005. The movie was directed by Abram Cox and stars Vincent Ventresca, Rachel Hunter, and William Forsythe, among others. The film is based on the concept of a parasitic creature that can take over human bodies and turn them into its hosts. The movie opens with a group of prisoners being transported to another facility by two prison guards, Hank and Zeke. On the way, they stop at a gas station to refuel. One of the prisoners, Riley, manages to escape and he hides in the back of a truck. The truck belongs to a group of college students, who are on their way to a music festival. The students have no idea that they have a fugitive hiding with them.

When the students arrive at the festival, they find out that it has been canceled. However, they decide to stay and camp out anyway. One of the students, Bert, starts to feel sick and has a strange rash. The others assume that he has contracted poison ivy. However, it soon becomes apparent that something much more sinister is at play.

The group realizes that they are not alone in the woods. They encounter several bizarre creatures that are feeding on human flesh. The creatures are attracted to the sound of music, which is why they are drawn to the festival.

Hank and Zeke, who are still looking for Riley, stumble upon the festival as well. They also encounter the parasitic creatures and are horrified by what they see. They team up with the college students to fight the creatures and try to survive the night.

As the night wears on, the situation becomes more and more dire. The parasitic creatures are multiplying, and soon there are too many for the group to handle. They realize that they must find a way to stop the creatures before it's too late.

The acting in Larva is solid, with Ventresca and Forsythe giving particularly strong performances. Even though the movie is classified as a horror-comedy, there are definitely some tense and scary moments. The creatures themselves are well-designed and creepy, adding to the overall atmosphere of the film.

One of the biggest strengths of Larva is its pacing. The movie moves quickly and doesn't waste any time on unnecessary scenes or exposition. From the very beginning, it's clear that there's something strange and dangerous going on, and the tension only continues to build as the movie progresses.

Another thing that sets Larva apart is its sense of humor. While it's definitely not a comedy in the traditional sense, there are plenty of funny moments and one-liners throughout the movie. This helps to break up the tension and keeps the audience engaged.

Overall, Larva is an entertaining horror-comedy that's definitely worth watching. While it may not be the most original movie out there, it's well-executed and does a great job of keeping the audience on the edge of their seats. Between the solid performances, creepy creature design, and clever humor, there's something for everyone in this film.

Larva is a 2005 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 33 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.3.
