Light Years Away is a drama film that was released in 1980. A young man works as a bartender in Dublin, and finds himself hating his life. This leads to the young man moving to a rural village, and living in a garage owned by a lonely old man. The old man does not like his new tenant, and makes him do trivial tasks to demean him. After a suicide attempt, the old man starts to like the young man. This leads to him being included in a secret that will change his life. Light Years Away was directed by Alain Tanner.
