Modesty Blaise is a 1966 spy satire that pokes fun at the spy genre films that were popular in the 1960s. The character is adapted from the Modesty Blaise comic strip character. Monica Vitt stars as the female spy. Other members of the cast include Terence Stamp, Dirk Bogarde, Harry Andrews and Michael Craig. Andrews plays British Secret Service chief Gerald Tarrent. Tarrant picks Modesty Blaise to protect a diamond shipment bound for the Middle East. Bogarde plays diamond thief Gabriel who attempt to steal the diamonds. Modesty Blaise was only moderately successful when it was released, but it has gone on to become a camp classic.
