MurderDrome is a horror movie that tells the story of Roller Derby skater Cherry Skye (Kat Anderson), who comes back to her hometown after an injury to find that her local Roller Derby team is being threatened by a rival team. However, her biggest challenge comes when she discovers that her team is haunted by the ghost of a Roller Derby player from the 1950s, who was killed in a gruesome accident.

The movie is set in a small town in Australia, and the cinematography does a great job of capturing the feeling of a small-town community where everyone knows each other. The movie starts with Cherry Skye arriving in town and catching up with her old friends, including her ex-boyfriend Brad (Jake Brown), who is now dating the captain of the rival Roller Derby team, Brooke (Rachael Blackwood).

As the movie progresses, we learn more about the history of the Roller Derby scene in the town, including the accident that killed the ghost character, referred to as "The Spirit." Cherry Skye starts to see and feel the presence of The Spirit, and the rest of the team starts to experience strange and potentially deadly events during their games.

The horror aspect of the movie really kicks in during the second half, as The Spirit becomes more violent and determined to take revenge on those who wronged her in life. The roller derby scenes are well shot, with lots of close-ups and fast-paced action to keep the viewers engaged. The special effects for the ghost character are well done and effectively convey a sense of dread and unease.

The performances from the cast are decent, with Kat Anderson doing a good job as the lead. Rachael Blackwood and Jake Brown also do a solid job as the rivals, and the supporting cast all deliver good performances. The script is a little basic, and some of the dialogue is a bit cheesy, but overall the movie is well put together and delivers on its promise of a horror movie set in the world of Roller Derby.

One of the strengths of MurderDrome is its use of Roller Derby as a unique setting for a horror movie. The sport is already a little edgy and alternative, which makes it a good fit for a horror movie. The movie also has a great soundtrack, featuring a mix of punk and rock songs that suit the tone of the movie perfectly.

Overall, MurderDrome is a well-made horror movie that manages to be both fun and scary at the same time. The Roller Derby setting is a nice touch that sets it apart from other horror movies, and the special effects and cinematography are both strong. The script and acting may not be the strongest points of the movie, but they are good enough to keep the viewer engaged. Fans of horror movies and Roller Derby should definitely check this one out.
