Luciano (played by Aniello Arena) is a fishmonger with a flair for the dramatic; he always loves a performance, whether it be in his shop for his customers, or with his wife when they run scams on the side to bring in a little extra income. With the encouragement of his family, Luciano decides to take his love of entertainment to the next level and audition to be a contestant on the reality TV show "Big Brother." This movie follows his bizarre journey down a twisted path filled with paranoia and a certain unreality. First released in Italy in September 2012, the film was given a rating of "R" for language, and the fact that younger viewers may find it disturbing to witness Luciano's descent into insanity. When it was released in the United States in March of 2013, "Reality" garnered only $7,072 on its opening weekend, with a total income of about $55,000 during its three-week run in American theaters.
