al, Tom is being questioned by the police about what happened at the hotel. We go back there. That night, Tom surprises Patrick beating up Kate. They confront each other and get into a violent fight. Patrick dies accidentally. Tom is in shock and so are Rachel and Kate. Kate insists on calling the police but Tom refuses. It was an accident. Rachel is supportive. Things get out of hand when Kate attacks Tom trying to save herself convinced that he will kill them both. In the confusion Tom shoots Kate. In a panic, Rachel flees. After chasing her around, he finds her in the kitchen. He is convinced Rachel called the police and insists on asking her if she really did. He points his gun at her. She turns back. He shoots. Tom takes Patrick's body out to a forest and burns it. He's surprised by John Parker blocking his way back. Tom threatens him at gun point. John charges at Tom shooting him in the stomach after a small struggle. Tom manages to push John off him and tries to reach for the gun which is now on the floor. John is shot in the head. Tom is safe. After recovering at the hospital and speaking to the Detective, incriminating John, Tom is in his office, he doesn't seem to care anymore. We return to Tom with his gun pointed at Rachel. Tom shoots. He misses on purpose. Rachel reveals that Tom didn't in fact kill Patrick and Kate. She confesses to the crimes and explains how it happened. "We're in this together" she says. "Love is made of dedication and hard decisions." Tom is shocked. He decides to send Rachel away. In a few seconds we recap Tom's moves up to the point where he is shot by John and is struggling to reach for the gun. He never does reach the gun. It's Rachel who has returned. She saves Tom from John and shoots the criminal down saving her loved one. She points the gun to herself. "I love you", she says. She pulls the trigger. Tom is helpless. We see Tom and Rachel on the first day they met. We can see the promise of love between
