Remo Williams is an action-comedy film that was released in 1985. It stars Fred Ward as Remo Williams, a former cop who is recruited by a secret organization to become an assassin. Joel Grey plays Chiun, an eccentric martial arts master who becomes Remo's mentor. The film begins with Remo Williams being recruited by a mysterious government agency called CURE. He is given a new identity and trained by Chiun in the art of Sinanju, a Korean martial art that emphasizes accuracy and speed over brute force. Remo quickly becomes a skilled assassin and is given the codename "The Destroyer."

Remo's first mission is to take down a corrupt weapons manufacturer named George Grove. Grove is selling weapons to foreign governments and pocketing the profits. Remo infiltrates Grove's company and tries to gather evidence against him, but he is caught and almost killed. With the help of Chiun, Remo is able to escape and set a trap for Grove.

The film's action scenes are fast-paced and thrilling, with plenty of fights and chases. The fight scenes are especially impressive, thanks to the martial arts expertise of Joel Grey. Chiun is a playful, almost cartoonish character, but his fighting skills are deadly serious.

One of the film's strengths is the chemistry between Remo and Chiun. They form an unlikely partnership, with Remo being a tough, no-nonsense cop and Chiun being a flamboyant, traditionalist martial arts master. Their banter is often funny, with Chiun teasing Remo about his lack of Sinanju skills and Remo making sarcastic remarks about Chiun's old-fashioned ways.

The film's villains are also memorable, especially George Grove. He is played by Charles Cioffi and is a smug, arrogant businessman who is willing to sell weapons to anyone if it means making a profit. Grove's right-hand man is a sadistic enforcer named Stone, played by J.A. Preston. Stone takes pleasure in inflicting pain on his victims and is a formidable opponent for Remo.

Remo Williams was based on a series of novels by Warren Murphy and Richard Sapir. The film was directed by Guy Hamilton, who is best known for directing several James Bond films. The film's score was composed by Craig Safan and features a memorable theme song called "The Adventure Begins."

Overall, Remo Williams is a fun, silly action movie with some impressive fight scenes and a lovable odd-couple pairing in Remo and Chiun. Despite some cliched plot elements and a few cheesy moments, it remains an enjoyable watch for fans of 80s action movies.
