- 1 hr 34 min
Cowboys have always loved their horses and the modern equivalent has transferred that feeling to motorcycles. This is shown in the time travel action movie “Timerider: The Adventures of Lynn Swann”. Lyle Swann is a well-known competitive dirt biker. At the beginning of the movie, he is competing in the multiclass vehicle race Baja 1000 on his Honda xr500 thumper. With the high tech gadgetry causing issues, he gets lost in the desert. While lost, he accidentally runs through a time travel experiment that sends him back to November 5, 1875. Before he can be brought back, he rides off unaware that he had gone back in time. The movie is co-written by William Dear and Michael Nesmith, who won Best Screenplay at Fantafestival in Rome. Both men had bit parts in the movie. Dear directed the movie, as well. Nesmith, who has a star on the Walk of Fame with the other members of the Monkees, produced the movie and did the music. One of his companies, Zoomo Productions, was the production company and another, Pacific Arts Video, released it. Swann, played by Golden Globe winner Fred Ward, decides to take a dip. While there, an outlaw gang headed by Porter Reese, played by Emmy winner Peter Coyote, come upon him. Reese takes a liking to the motorcycle, which causes the gang to chase after him to steal it. They end up in the village of San Marco, where Swann scares most of the residents. They believe him to be the devil because of his red outfit and bike. Then he meets Claire Cygne, played by Belinda Bauer, who gives him a place to hide. She also shoots one of Reese’s men. The village priest gets the gang to leave. Reese still has designs on the dirt bike and wants revenge on Claire. Swann has to go after the gang when they steal his bike and kidnap Claire.
