Tommy "Santa" Santorelli, a successful yet egotistical baseball player, is knocked out by an unexpected pitch that sends him traveling back in time to 1976. When he awakes to realize that he is in 1976; he is greeted by all of his friends from the Sandlot. He gets to experience meeting his mother whom had passed from cancer as well as the manager of his current baseball team, Benny.

Benny is younger and does not know what his future holds for him so when Tommy asks Benny how they were transported back in time, he has no clue what Tommy is talking about. Once Benny sees Tommy play baseball, he knows that he must have him on their baseball team. However, after Tommy sees a team win several games, he decides to switch teams.
