Running from Crazy is a biography documentary drama film that was released in 2013. The film’s subject is Mariel Hemmingway who is the great granddaughter of the famous Novelist Earnest Hemmingway. The film looks at the family’s long history of mental illness, alcohol abuses, and suicide. These afflictions destroyed many members of the Hemmingway family including the famous Author as well four other members of the family over the span of just three generations. The film contains archival footage of Hemmingway’s three female siblings. It also shows Mariel Hemmingway as she researches her family, and attempts to break the chain of mental illness for the sake of herself and her young children.
