A young couple, madly in love, gets married and begins their life together. Everything is interrupted when the husband suffers a terrible memory loss. The wife befriends the doctor treating her husband, but outsiders view the relationship as wrong. This includes the Doctor's wife, who gets begins an affair with another local man.
