A tale from Czechoslovakian folklore. "Savage Lagoon" follows a young and struggling Czech ballerina, Ilona, who tries to make a career in New York City while working nights in a strip club. Lost and lonely in Manhattan, she longs for her homeland. Ilona leaves the States in search of her ancestors' fabled castle, said to be located deep in the Bohemian woods. Her search stirs up a fifty-year-old mystery surrounding the disappearance of a countess and a fairy-tale being from her childhood. Although what she finds is romance and adventure, Ilona realizes that the dreams of her youth have yet to come true.
