Shaheb Bibi Golaam is a Bengali film directed by Pratim D. Gupta and starring Ritwick Chakraborty, Anjan Dutt, Swastika Mukherjee, and Parno Mittra. The movie was released in 2016 and tells the story of three people whose lives intersect in different ways. Shaheb (Ritwick Chakraborty) is a small-time thief who is hired by an influential businessman to find his young wife, Jaya (Damini Basu). Jaya has run away from home and is believed to be hiding in Kolkata's red-light district, Sonagachi. Shaheb finds her there and, in the process of bringing her back, gets entangled in a web of deceit and corruption.

Jaya is a complex character who is trapped in an unhappy marriage. She seeks refuge in Sonagachi, where she meets a young prostitute, Champa (Rima Guhathakurta). Champa takes care of Jaya and introduces her to the world of squalor, abuse, and exploitation that she inhabits. Jaya becomes fascinated with Champa's life and eventually decides to run away with her to Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Golaam (Vikram Chatterjee) is a taxi driver who also gets caught up in the events of the movie. He is indebted to a local politician and is forced to transport illegal goods for him. Golaam's life changes when he meets Jaya and Shaheb and becomes involved in their quest for freedom.

The movie is a gritty portrayal of life in Kolkata's underbelly. The performances are all top-notch, with Ritwick Chakraborty delivering a standout performance as Shaheb. He manages to convey the character's vulnerability and desperation without ever overacting. Damini Basu is equally impressive as Jaya, a woman who is torn between her desire for freedom and her fear of what might happen if she steps out of line.

The cinematography is excellent, with the movie's dark and moody visuals perfectly capturing the mood of the story. The soundtrack, composed by Anupam Roy, is also a highlight, with its fusion of Bengali folk and modern sounds perfectly complementing the movie's themes.

Overall, Shaheb Bibi Golaam is a powerful and thought-provoking movie that delves deep into the underbelly of society. It's a story of three people who are looking for something that's missing in their lives, and who ultimately find it in each other. The movie is a must-watch for anyone who appreciates quality cinema.
