"Spork" is an emotional dramatic comedy independent film that was written and directed by J.B. Ghuman Jr. The movie is about two very good friends who live in the same suburban neighborhood. Spork is a fourteen year old wild-haired misfit that is very unpopular in school and is the victim of bullying. She is very soft spoken and shy and also happens to be of intersex gender but she identifies herself as a female and presents herself as such. Her friend is Tootsie Roll, who lives next store to "Spork". Tootsie Roll is also very unpopular and is the product of her broken home; her father is locked up in prison. She is a wannabe professional dancer and enlists Spork in helping her train for a school dance contest. The first place prize is cash that Tootsie Roll could use to visit her father in prison. The girls have to navigate the very rough waters of junior high school. During her dance training Tootsie Roll suffers a foot injury, Spork volunteers to step in and take over the roll and enter the dance contest. She needs to face up against her tormentors and contest oponents, a group of aggressive popular girls led by Betsy Byotch and her best friends Loosie Goosie, Tori, and Jecca. The adults don't seem to be of any help but Spork's small group of loyal friends cheer her on during her progressive dance routine. All of the children in the cast, including Savannah Stehlin and Sydney Park as Spork and Tootsie Roll respectively, are young actors playing characters of their own age.
