Tekken is a futuristic, dystopic martial arts thriller. The film is inspired by the video game Tekken, which also features mixed martial arts fighters in a futuristic setting. The story is set in 2039. Multiple world wars have ravaged the earth and caused great devastation worldwide. The world is no longer divided into countries, but into corporations which rule in place of governments with a ferocious might. The greatest corporation in the world of this film is Tekken. The best martial arts and weapons fighters decide to meet to compete for the ultimate sporting event of all time. The Fist Tournament is the last event of its kind.

Tekken sponsors the Fist Tournament to distract the throngs of millions who are struggling to resist corporate rule. At each competition, the winner is given a vast amount of money and is notorious worldwide for the accomplishment. However, each fighter is required to fight to the death, which makes for a suspenseful film.

Jin Kazama is a street fighter whose mother was brutally murdered by Tekken's CEO. The only way he can see avenging his mother's death is by winning the Fist Tournament and murdering the CEO. An older Fist Champion trains Jin and helps him deal with his emotionally painful past. The story also reveals the dark underworld of Tekken, which exploits human beings worldwide in a most ruthless way.

In the meantime, Jin works as a smuggler for people seeking computer and electronic parts on the black market. In one riveting scene, he runs through a shower of bullets to get his girlfriend a present.
