The Animatrix

The Animatrix is an animated anthology film from 2003. The film consists of nine stories that each have some relation to the Matrix film trilogy. Beyond the presence of nine different stories, these stories are presented in different mediums of animation and by different creators. While four of the short films take place at some point along the timeline of the main film's franchise, the other five films are self-contained storylines; such as a human who runs fast enough that he may pierce the Matrix and a group of children who play in an area where the Matrix is off-kilter.
