The Animatrix is an animated anthology film that was released in 2003. The sixth short film, "Matriculated," is directed by Peter Chung and features the voice of Burress. In this story, a group of humans attempts to reprogram a machine and turn it against the rest of the machines.

The seventh short film, "Kid's Story," is directed by Morimoto and features the voice of Clayton Watson. The story follows a high school student named Michael, who is contacted by the mysterious hacker Morpheus and begins to question the nature of reality.

The eighth short film, "Final Flight of the Osiris," is directed by Andy Jones and features the voices of Jada Pinkett Smith and Gina Torres. This story is a prequel to the events of the Matrix Reloaded and follows the crew of the Osiris as they attempt to warn Zion of an impending machine attack.

The final short film, "The Last Flight of the Osiris," is directed by Morimoto and features the voice of Pinkett Smith. The story follows the same crew of the Osiris as they attempt to gather information about the machines and their plans for Zion.
