The Blob released is a remake of the original movie from the 1960s. This monster horror film runs for ninety-five minutes and contains violence and gore. When a meteorite crash lands in California, an old drifter stumbles on the crash site. While he is investigating the remains of the meteor, a jelly-like substance attaches itself to the man's hand. Hurting from this creature that he can't remove, the man stumbles away from the crash site. Brian, Meg and Paul encounter the man and take him to the hospital. While at the hospital, Paul notices that the lower half of the man is being eaten away by this Blob. As he calls for help, the Blob attacks him, and when Meg returns to try to rescue Paul, his arm is ripped from his body, and Meg is knocked unconscious. The blob then oozes out from the hospital. Brian and Meg report the incident to the police, and after an unsatisfactory result, they meet to discuss the Blob. When the diner's handyman is pulled into the sink by the blob, Brian and Meg run from the creatures and are chased into the walk-in freezer. The blob retreats because it cannot stand the cold. The longer the blob feeds, the bigger it gets. Traveling through the city, the monster terrorizes people in the local theater and devours them as he rolls over citizens. When the military arrives to try and stop the monster, they realize that conventional weapons do not work. Brian and Meg inform them that the blob cannot tolerate cold temperatures. The military then uses liquid nitrogen against the blob to flash-freeze the monster. Unable to actually kill the creature, they transport it to a cold location to keep it frozen forever. The final scene shows one survivor beginning to preach the end of the world coming. In his hand he holds a jar with a small piece of the blob.
