The plot of the film centers on a series of bizarre and horrific murders in 19th century England. There is only one undeniable connection between all of the murder victims, all of their blood has been drained from their bodies! Thus a tenacious inspector from Scotland Yard (Peter Cushing) sets out to investigate the curious circumstances surrounding their deaths and finds that the killer he seeks is no ordinary man - indeed, the killer is not even human.
