Hal Moffat is a fugitive killer known as The Creeper whose face was disfigured by an acid attack. Driven mad by his quest for revenge on those he believes responsible for his predicament, he commits a series of murders. On the run from the police he encounters a blind woman who cannot see his deformity but instead sees his inner kindness and hides him from the police. In gratitude Moffat begins to commit thefts in an effort to pay for an operation to restore her sight.
