In fact, Ogden Marsh is known as the friendliest place on earth. Sheriff David Dutton and his deputy Russell Clark are enjoying a baseball game when they notice one of the locals, Rory Hamill, walking onto the field with a rifle. Refusing to listen to commands, David is forced to shoot and kill Rory. Meanwhile, Judy who is the community physician and David’s wife had her hands full all day with townsfolk that seem to all appear listless and have a repetitive speech pattern. Later that night, local Bill Farnum traps his family in their house and burns it to the ground. Something is turning the residents of Ogden Marsh into deranged, psychopathic killers. The next morning, three hunters find a dead pilot in Hopman Bog and it is not long before the sheriff and his deputy spot that United States plane that he was flying. As they rush back, the town is swarming with Army men, the townsfolk are imprisoned in concentration camps and the whole town has been sealed off. They soon learn that the cargo plane that crashed into the bog contained "Trixie" a biological weapon and it contaminated the town’s water supply. There is also no known antidote for anyone that gets infected and the soldiers have direct orders to kill any civilian that shows symptoms of being infected. Now it is up to David, his wife and the other unaffected townsfolk to breach the containment orders and reach the next town over before it is too late. As they fight for survival they don’t just have to fight off the crazies but the United States Army too.
