The plot of the film follows a lone Maori warrior named Hongi whose tribe is one day mercilessly slaughter by a marauding band of villains. Believing that the souls of his people will never rest unless vengeance is meted out against their murderers, Hongi sets out on a dangerous quest into the forbidden region known to his people as The Dead Lands to find the fabled killer known only as Warrior.
