The Final Girls
- 1 hr 28 min
This innovative take on the slasher movie genre sees regular teen high school student Max attending an audition with her actress mother Amanda. Following the audition Amanda explains her career has always been stalled after she starred in a 1980s slasher movie called Camp Bloodbath. As Max and Amanda discuss her acting career and its many problems they are involved in a car accident only Max survives. One year later, Max is persuaded to attend a screening of her mother's classic horror movie as a special guest, Max attends with her friends and the ex girlfriend of the boy she has set her sights on. As the movie is screened the audience become increasingly erratic in their behavior, forcing Max and her friends to flee through a hole they rip in the cinema screen. After passing through the screen the group find themselves in the world of Camp Bloodbath and are forced to invent roles as employees of the camp to remain on the sidelines as the plot of the movie develops around them. Initially, the group of modern teens stay out of the plot, but when one of their group is murdered they are forced to act in a bid to see the movie through to its end. A critically acclaimed horror movie, The Final Girls sees Max and the dwindling number of her group forced to act in a bid to stop the iconic murderer from killing them all as reality and fiction blur.
