Directed by James Neilson and Alex Grasshoff, The First Time is a movie all about three teenage boys coming of age. This movie features an all-star cast of Jacqueline Bisset (Anna), Wes Stern (Kenny), Rick Kelman (Mike), Wink Roberts (Tommy), Gerard Parkes (Charles), Sharon Acker (Pamela), Cosette Lee (Grandmother), Vincent Marino (Frankie) and Eric Lane (Joe). Since summer has come three high school friends Kenny Leeds (Stern), Tommy Kingsley (Roberts) and Mike Decker (Kelman) decide that it is time to become men. The only problem with this plan is that they are separated. While his widowed father is on a business trip with his secretary/fiancé Kenny is sent to live with his grandparents in Buffalo to ensure he stays out of trouble. Bored and alone in this strange new city he writes to his two best friends and regales them all about his adventures with the "experienced" women at Rosie's brothel (a brothel that he made up). This seemed like a good plan until his friends, who were on their way to a summer camp, take a detour and stop by Buffalo for a visit to the infamous Rosie's. Kenny, who is trying to cover his tracks, takes them on a tour of Niagara Falls and claims that Rosie's has been raided by the police and boarded up. While looking for other brothels the boys meet Anna (Bisset), actually an English girl that has lost her passport, the boys mistake as a prostitute and offer to help her cross the border. They smuggle her across the border into Buffalo and take her to their hotel room. While she is sleeping in the hotel bed, the boys draw straws to see who will get to sleep with her first. Tommy and Mike win but they both chicken out and after hearing her crying because her married lover breaks up with her, Kenny decides to go and talk to her. Anna and Kenny talk late into the night and in some ways each of them understands the confusion the other has. After spending the night together, Kenny learns that Anna never slept with the either two, but he is confused as to why Anna treated him differently. When he asks her about this she just smiles and kisses him goodbye, leaving him with more questions than he got ansewered. The first time, is about how three boys anxiously await what they feel like is an entrance into manhood and learn that coming of age is more complicated than any of them could ever imagine.
