Watch The Jacket

The Jacket is a 2005 psychological thrillers that is based on the Jack London story The Star Rover. The film gets its name from the title that The Star Rover was published under in the United Kingdom. The Jacket follows a Gulf War veteran who returns to his hometown after recovering from a bullet wound sustained to his head. It is quickly apparent that the wounded veteran has little back home, and he runs across a little girl and her drunken mother stranded inside of a broken down truck. The soldier’s brain injury becomes worse, and he begins to suffer from intermittent periods of amnesia. The soldier interprets this as time travel, and he begins to go on adventures while locked inside of a mental asylum. The film climaxes when he convinces a young woman that his powers are real, just when he himself learns they are in fact part of his injury. The Jacket stars Adrien Brody, Keira Knightley, and Kris Kristofferson. The film was directed by John Maybury.
