The Train is a 1964 war drama based on actual events. Burt Lancaster leads a cast that includes Jeanne Moreau and Paul Scofield. John Frankenheimer directed the movie. Lancaster always like to do his own stunt work, and he performs a number of athletic feats in The Train. The story is set in 1944 during World War II. Lancaster plays Paul Labiche a member of the French Resistance. Scofield plays German Colonel Franz von Waldehheim. The plot revolves Waldenheim’s attempt to ship stolen art works back to Germany on a train. Labiche’s role is to stop the Nazi. The Train is action packed and full of thrills and suspense.
