"The Transporter Refueled" is a 2015 action thriller film directed by Camille Delamarre and produced by Luc Besson. It is the fourth installment in the "Transporter" franchise, following the story of Frank Martin, a former special-ops mercenary who works as a professional driver-for-hire. This time around, Frank Martin is portrayed by Ed Skrein, who replaces Jason Statham in the lead role. The film takes place on the Mediterranean coast, where Frank has set himself up for a quiet life after retiring from his dangerous career. However, his plans are disrupted when he is hired by a mysterious woman named Anna (Loan Chabanol), who hires Frank to help her and three other women flee from their Russian gangster pimp. As he is hired to transport the women, Frank soon learns that Anna and her friends have a hidden agenda. The four women are out for revenge against their pimp and have stolen millions of dollars from him. Frank is then forced to fight for his life and protect the women from the vicious Russian gangsters who are hot on their trail. The film features a lot of high-octane action sequences, from car chases to shootouts, and intense fight scenes. It also features a lot of stylish elements, portraying the French Riviera in a glossy and glamorous light. Ed Skrein's performance as Frank Martin is solid, bringing a different type of energy and intensity to the character compared to Jason Statham's portrayal. Loan Chabanol also delivers a charismatic performance as Anna, the woman who hires Frank for the job. The film is not without its flaws, however. The plot is somewhat formulaic and some of the scenes feel overly choreographed and staged. The script is also lacking in substance, with flat and underdeveloped characters. Despite its shortcomings, "The Transporter Refueled" still delivers on its promises: high-speed car chases, brutal action sequences, and plenty of thrills. It's a fun and entertaining action film, albeit not a particularly memorable one. Overall, "The Transporter Refueled" is a decent addition to the "Transporter" franchise, offering fans of the series another dose of adrenaline-fueled action. It may not be the best film in the franchise, but it is still an enjoyable ride for those looking for some mindless fun and action-packed entertainment.
