The film World Unseen is about Amina who is located in Africa in the midst of the apartheid during the 1950’s. The apartheid itself is tearing apart the nation. However, Amina upholds her belief of freedom and individuality. Even with the disparaging outlook of the community, Amina continues to run the Location Café, a place that offers food, fun and festivities to all kinds of people. In her café, she makes all the laws and rules even if the police keep giving her a hard time. On the other hand, the film also focuses on Miriam. Miriam is a conventional woman of the age with no aspirations in life. Her world revolves around taking care of her children and being a wife to a chauvinistic husband named Omar. Amina has a secret business partner named Jacob. Because her partner is ‘colored’, he is not permitted to run and own a business. Also, Jacob adores a white lady named Madeleine. However, because of the unjust laws of the nation, he cannot pursue his desires. Omar has a sister named Rehmat. Despite of the prevalent laws that forbid mixed marriages, Rehmat still marries a white man. In the event that she needs safety from the police, Amina saves her. Miriam is also starting to notice Amina’s charm and character. Amina accepts farming-related work from Miriam. Miriam secretly was excited with the idea so she can connect with Amina. While working at Miriam’s farming job, Amina notices her kindness and dedication. At this time, they are already mutually attracted and it is growing day by day. The film continues to explore the relationship between the two and how they both empower each other despite the fact that the law forbids such relationships. They help each other making decisions that eventually change their worlds.
