Three the Hard Way is the 1974 Blaxploitation film about three buddies who go after a group of white supremacists, who hatch a plot to poison the water supply with a substance that will kill off all blacks but render the rest of the population unharmed. The film was directed by Gordon Parks Jr. The movie begins when Jimmy's (Jim Brown) sick and wounded friend House (Junnero Jones) stumbles to his front door. He tells Jimmy a suspicious story about escaping from a secret facility that performs dangerous experiments on humans. After going to the hospital along with Jimmy's girlfriend Wendy (Sheila Frazier), House is ambushed and killed by unknown assassins and Wendy is kidnapped.

Realizing that this issue is much larger than he first knew, Jimmy enlists the help of his friends Jagger Daniels (Fred Williamson) and Mister Keyes (Jim Kelly) to help him unravel the mystery of House's mysterious illness and Wendy's kidnapping. It soon comes to the attention of the trio that an evil organization headed by a racist kingpen Monroe Feather (Jay Robinson) has a posionous serum--only lethal to blacks--is to be dumped into the water systems of several major cities in the U.S. Dr. Fortrero (Richard Anagarola) is a Josef Mengele type scientist who is repsonsible for mixing up the serum.

After a number of fights, explosions and karate chops where the trio quickly disposes of thugs and crooked cops, they are able to one of the white supremacists captive. The man is in the room with three of Jagger's motorcycle riding female associates who know how to inflict pain. They make short work of the captive and get him to reveal some of the organization's secrets. The three are able to thwart the organization's plans, kill Feather and Fortrero and save Wendy.
