Uncle Nick is a 2015 comedy movie directed by Chris Kasick and starring Brian Posehn, Paget Brewster, and Missi Pyle. The movie follows the character of Nick (Brian Posehn), a 40-something slacker who isn't too fond of the holidays or his family. However, when his brother asks him to come over to spend Christmas with his family, Nick reluctantly agrees to go, despite his disdain for the festivities.

The movie opens with a scene of Nick in bed with a woman, who we later learn is his best friend's girlfriend. Nick's friend Kevin (Beau Ballinger) is irritated with Nick's behavior and threatens to end their friendship if he doesn't change his ways. Nick, who doesn't seem to care, brushes off Kevin's threat and spends the rest of his day drinking beer and watching TV.

After getting a phone call from his brother Cody (Melvin Gregg), Nick decides to go to his family's house for Christmas. He arrives to find a house full of relatives, including his niece and nephew, girlfriend, and brother's wife, Michelle (Paget Brewster). Although Nick shares some awkward moments with his family members, he soon begins to bond with his nephew, Val (Jacob Houston), who is going through a tough time and sees Nick as a role model.

As the day progresses, Nick's behavior becomes increasingly erratic, with him consuming large amounts of booze and making inappropriate comments. His actions cause friction with his family members, especially Michelle, who is forced to confront Nick about his behavior. Things come to a head when Nick reveals a dark secret about his brother, causing tension and conflict among the family members.

Despite its somewhat dark subject matter, Uncle Nick is a raunchy and irreverent comedy that will leave audiences laughing out loud. The movie's humor is not for the faint of heart, with a lot of the jokes involving sex, drugs, and alcohol. However, if you enjoy offbeat humor and don't mind an occasional cringe-worthy joke, then this movie is sure to entertain.

One of the highlights of the movie is the performance of Brian Posehn as Nick. Posehn, who is known for his stand-up comedy, brings a lot of his trademark snark to the role, delivering hilarious one-liners and deadpan jokes throughout the movie. However, Posehn is also able to show a softer side of Nick, particularly in his scenes with his nephew Val, which adds depth to the character.

The supporting cast is also excellent, with Paget Brewster and Missi Pyle delivering standout performances as Michelle and Val's mother, respectively. Michelle, in particular, is a complex character, who is both tough and vulnerable at the same time, and Brewster does a great job of portraying her. The child actors, Jacob Houston and Olivia Taylor Dudley, are also impressive, bringing a lot of heart and humor to their roles.

In terms of the movie's production values, Uncle Nick is a low-budget indie film, but it doesn't show. The movie's cinematography is excellent, with Chris Kasick using a lot of interesting camera angles and lighting to create a moody and atmospheric feel. The soundtrack is also great, with a mix of classic Christmas tunes and indie rock songs that help to set the tone of the movie.

Overall, Uncle Nick is a hilarious and irreverent comedy that is sure to leave audiences laughing out loud. While it may not be for everyone, if you enjoy offbeat humor and don't mind a few raunchy jokes, this movie is definitely worth checking out. With great performances from Brian Posehn, Paget Brewster, and Missi Pyle, Uncle Nick is a must-see for fans of indie comedies.

Uncle Nick is a 2015 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 20 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.9 and a MetaScore of 36.
